Mainly for use by Template:vardefine. See template docs for more details.

If you need to use this in conjunction with Cargo and you need empty params to be explicitly set to empty string to reset a variable value, use {{#invoke:Vardefine|Cargo|<args>}} instead. This takes all the same arguments as Module:CargoQuery but will always only consider the first result returned (ie, do not need to set |limit=1) and will ignore any parameters related to displaying output.
