Zayne
Zayne and the MC were childhood friends, who had lost contact around the time Zayne went to college. It was only after more than a decade later, when he and the MC were reunited, when Zayne became her primary care physician.
Zayne graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine at Skywalk University Medical School, where he obtained his master's degree and PhD. His expertise is in complex congenital heart defect corrective surgery, aortic valve regeneration and repair (Evol-based), atrial septal defect repair (Evol intervention), Evol-assisted heart valve repair, heart transplant.
He is currently the chief surgeon of the Division of Cardiac Surgery at Linkon Central Hospital, lead researcher of the Evol-Cardiac Medical Laboratory (AEC), and PhD advisor of the Skyhaven University Medical School (Chapter 4-5).
Personality and interest[edit | edit source]
Zayne is often described as someone who seems cold and intimidating from appearance. It had been mentioned several times by his former classmates and current colleagues, that it was quite hard at the beginning to start a conversation with him, as he gave off the vibe of wanting others to stay away(Anecdote a pure white heart). This impression however would never last long, as his kind and gentle nature are very hard not to notice.
His personality could be described as sensible in thinking and sensitive at heart. He is mature, responsible, highly self-aware and self-disciplined, when it comes to his own personal life and matters, but quite empathetic and compassionate when treating others. Despite being quite firm and upfront about his own opinion, he had never pressured them on others. As long as it doesn't cross his view in morality, he had always seemed to be quite understanding and respectful when it comes to sharing differences in thinking.
Despite the serious, cold and rational view people has of him, Zayne had shown to be quite witty towards people he is close with and has this type of humor to say the most unserious things with a straight face, at moments when people expect the least, seemingly to find joy in watching how others' would react.
Zayne has said to enjoy traveling, exercising, visiting different museums or parks, and just simply spending his free time on his own. He likes little animals, has quite a bit of a sweet tooth and had shown to be surprisingly creative when it comes to improvisation.

Zayne was born on September 5th, 2021, within a medical household. As both of his parents were doctors, he grew up at a home where most of the things he could use to kill time were reading medical textbooks. He parents would even tell their hospital experiences as bedtime stories.
Starting from the age of 12, Zayne began to experience nightmares, that would eventually lead him to avoid sleeping as much as he could. It was said that in the same year, he experienced an event of his evol losing control, almost taking the life of someone he cares about.
In 2034, when the Chronorift Catastrophe happened, Zayne met the MC for the first time at the hospital, where he encountered her crying by herself. A year after the event, Zayne, the MC and Caleb were officially introduced to each other as their grandmother and his family were acquaintances. Their families would occasionally meet up to have dinner, resulting to them naturally to become friends.
University (2035 - 2043)[edit | edit source]
In 2035, Zayne was accepted as a student at the age of 14, under the Department of Clinical Medicine at Skyhaven University Medical School, where obtained his master and PhD degree. It was revealed that during his studies, he had published more than 30 research papers as the first author in professional journals with an impact factor of over 9.0. He graduated in 2043 in 8 years of time, which was twice as fast than the average medical student.
Due to the age differences with his classmates and him often skipping grades, he had revealed that he had a hard time making friends at school.
Life (2043 - 2048)[edit | edit source]
In 2043, at the age of 22, he obtained his MD and started working in the Division of Cardiac Surgery at Linkon Central Hospital, serving as an attending surgeon and Chief medical officer.

In 2046, at the age of 25, Zayne received the Starcatcher Award for his landmark contribution to lowering the prevalence of congenital cardiac defects in newborns with his discovery that Evol genes affect the mutation rate in cells during heart development. In the same year, he performed the very first aortic valve regeneration and repair operation with Evol technology and became the youngest winner of Linde Award.
In 2048, at the age of 27, he was appointed as chief surgeon of the division of Cardiac Surgery at Linkon Central Hospital and established the Evol-Cardiac Medical Laboratory, leading a number of research projects related to cardiac function regulation and transformation by Evol. (Chapter 4-5)
