Love and Deepspace Wiki:Page guidelines

From Love and Deepspace Wiki

The following guide covers several types of pages types and how to make them with which templates. This includes pages like Memory pages, Call pages, Scripts, etc.

This is one of several Wiki editing guides, and it is highly recommended to review the ones related to your editing interests.

Boilerplates[edit source]

Read this first!

This Wiki uses mw:Extension:MultiBoilerplate! If you are using the source editor and creating a new page, you have access to all of these boilerplates. You will see a dropdown that has access to various page boilerplates for several types of page formatting including many with instructions listed here. Loading these will give you whichever boilerplate you need. Make sure to make use of this!

A list of boilerplates and their locations can be found at MediaWiki:Multiboilerplate. Boilerplates should be created under the Boilerplate: namespace.

Adding Memory pages[edit source]

Use the Memory page boilerplate. Refer to Template:Memory for any fields you are not sure about.

Adding events[edit source]

Edit the source on the Events Archive page (e.g. Events/Archive/2024). Copy the template from a previous event row and add most recent events to the top of the table.

If the event has more details to keep track of, create a new page. The format will vary event to event, but see Category:Events for examples.

Adding Wishing Pools / Banners[edit source]

Edit the source on the Wish Archive page (e.g. Wish/Archive/2024). Copy the template from a previous Wishing Pool row and add most recent Wishing Pool to the top of the table.

Adding Item pages[edit source]

If the item does not have a separate template (e.g. Plushie and Kitty Badges have separate templates), then use the Item Boilerplate. Refer to Template:Item if there are any fields you are unsure about.

Adding Plushie pages[edit source]

Use the Plushie page boilerplate. Refer to Template:Plushie for any fields you are not sure about.

Adding scripts[edit source]

All scripts should be made using Template:Script. The documentation on the page has instructions and examples on how to use it.

Some pages will have their scripts on a separate page. Script pages should be added as a subpage with lowercase /Script.

Adding Outfit/Outfit set/Companion pages[edit source]

Outfit items, outfit sets, and companion outfits are all linked together. All the linked pieces can get a bit overwhelming, so here's a breakdown of what you should do:

  • First create the Item pages for each outfit piece. (e.g. Misty Nightfall, Shadow Mask)
  • Then create the Outfit set page. (e.g. Set: Abysswalker) This should automatically be able to grab the items it belongs to if you filled out the items correctly.
  • Make sure you also create the pages for the alternate color set as well.
  • If there is one, create the Companion outfit page. This is the page that has all the Companion's skills attached to it. When you finish this page, it should pick up all the other pages you created before.

Make sure you're using the boilerplates for these templates!

Adding Weapon pages[edit source]

Use the Weapon page boilerplate. Refer to Template:Weapon for any fields you are not sure about.

Adding Character pages[edit source]

There is a basic character page boilerplate that can be used to get started. It includes:

Adding Spacepedia entries[edit source]

For pages that just need a Spacepedia entry, use the Spacepedia page boilerplate. Refer to Template:Spacepedia entry for any fields you are not sure about.

Adding Wanderer pages[edit source]

Use the Wanderer page boilerplate. Refer to Template:Wanderer for any fields you are not sure about.

Adding list pages and adding custom filters[edit source]

See also: Module:FilterBuilder

There is a boilerplate that can be used to a generic list and styling. Refer to the Module documentation for any fields you're unsure about.
